What is The View of DC?

Soaring nearly 400 feet high, The View of DC is the premier way to experience all of DC, all at once.

Bask in unobstructed, unparalleled 360-degree views of the National Mall, DC, Maryland and Virginia and gaze upon nearly every DC landmark, including The Washington Monument, Lincoln Memorial, Jefferson Memorial, US Capitol, Supreme Court, Pentagon, Arlington National Cemetery, National Cathedral & Georgetown.

The 12,000-square-foot interior is flooded with natural light through three stories of floor-to-ceiling glass windows. A private champagne room and outdoor terrace offer guests additional elevated perspectives. The Café offers quick bites and a full bar including Northern Virginia craft beers, wines and seating for groups of all sizes.

The View of DC is equipped with “Windows Into History,” 14 interactive screens that provide facts and timelines about the monuments and landmarks in-view. History come to life in “Stepping Into Perspectives,” an exhibit of holographic displays narrating milestone moments as guests explore the attraction.

Capture a complimentary souvenir photo with the National Mall as a backdrop with our BriziCam installation, allowing guests to take control of a professional camera and flash using their own smartphone.

How do I purchase tickets?

You can purchase both General Admission and special event tickets online at or at the box office, located on the 1700 block of North Moore Street, across from the Rosslyn Metro Station.

How do I get to The View of DC?

The View of DC is on the 31st and 32nd floors of Central Place Tower, located at 1201 Wilson Blvd., Arlington, VA 22209. The box office is located on Central Place Plaza, on the 1700 block of North Moore Street, across from the Rosslyn Metro Station.

What are the hours of operation?

The View of DC is open on weekdays from 10am to 8pm, and weekends from 9am to 8pm. Hours may vary based on holidays and private events.

Where are the box office and entrance located?

The View of DC box office is located on the 1700 block of North Moore Street, across from the Rosslyn Metro Station. The entrance is located on Central Place Plaza.

What if I arrive later than my entry time?

Late arrivals will be accommodated based on capacity, so you might be asked to wait until the next open time slot. We strongly encourage you to arrive 15 minutes before your scheduled time to avoid any delays.

Can I bring my kids and strollers to The View of DC?

Yes. The View of DC is great for guests of all ages.You may be asked to fold your stroller when entering the elevator if extra space is needed. 

Are pets allowed?

Animals are not permitted in The View of DC, with the exception of service animals. This policy is in effect at all times.
Can I bring my licensed firearm?

Firearms are not permitted. Exceptions are made for on-duty police officers.

Can I take pictures?

Yes. We encourage guests to take personal photos and videos with hand-held devices, and share them on social media. Tag us with @TheViewofDC or #TheViewofDC!

Are tripods and other professional equipment allowed?

No. Personal use of tripods is not permitted inside The View of DC.  

Can I bring food and drinks?

Outside food and beverages are not permitted. Food and drinks are available at our Café and Champagne Bar.

What forms of payment are accepted?

Cash and credit cards (AMEX, Visa, Master Card, Discover) are accepted for all purchases. 

What if there’s low visibility on the day I visit?

The visibility from The View of DC varies with the weather conditions in the DC area. On days with poor visibility, we’ll post signage at the box office. On the rare occasion of zero visibility, and at the discretion of The View of DC, a voucher may be issued upon request for unused tickets, allowing re-entry within 14 days.

What is the refund policy for unused tickets?

Tickets must be used on the listed date and time. On the rare occasion of zero visibility, and at the discretion of The View of DC, a voucher may be issued for each unused ticket, allowing re-entry within 14 days.

How much time do I need to visit The View of DC?

You should allow approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour to complete your visit.

Are there public restrooms at The View of DC?

Restrooms are available inside The View of DC. 

Is my ticket valid for a return visit to The View of DC?

Tickets are only valid for a single-day admission at a specific time, however you can stay in the attraction as long as you'd like once admitted. Re-entry is not permitted.

Can I purchase The View of DC merchandise? 

Yes. Merchandise is located on the 31st floor.  Please see any ambassador to make your purchase.

Is smoking permitted at The View of DC?

No. Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere within The View of DC.

I am uncomfortable in an elevator. Can I use the stairs to go up and down?

The stairs can only be used in case of an emergency. All guests must access The View of DC by elevator.

Can children visit The View of DC by themselves?

Guests must be at least 14 years of age to enter. Younger children must be escorted by an adult. 

Are dining and concessions available at The View of DC?

Yes. Our Café and bar are open during operational hours.
